Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add the egg and molasses and beat until mixture is fluffy. Mix remaining ingredients until well-blended and chill the dough until firm.
Once the dough has firmed up, form rounded teaspoons of the dough into 1 inch balls. Roll the balls in sugar and place them on baking sheets that have either been greased or lined with parchment paper.
Bake the cookies at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies just begin to brown. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
