Viennese Crescent Cookies

Yield: About 70 cookies
Oven Temperature: 350 degrees F

Ingredients:
1 cup ground walnuts or pecans
1 cup butter
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract





Viennese Crescent Cookies

Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, and vanilla together until fluffy. Add flour and nuts and combine thoroughly.

Shape rounded teaspoons of dough into small crescents (about 1 1/2 inches long). Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets in a 350 degree oven until their edges are golden, about 15 - 17 minutes. After the cookies are finished baking, let them cool for 1 minute.

While they are still warm, gently roll each cookie in a bowl of powdered sugar until coated. Place them on a rack to cool. Once cookies are completely cooled, roll them once more in powdered sugar.
